Martha is the founder and president of Higher Ground. A mediator and recovering lawyer with a U.S. Supreme Court win under her belt, Martha has been a lifelong student of the workings of the human heart, mind and spirit. In her work with organizations, Martha has developed a deep appreciation for collaboration as a means of effective, efficient leadership and teamwork.  In her work with personal growth, Martha pays particular attention to the intersection of mind/emotion/spirit to bring more heart to the process of living.

Martha has been providing training, consulting, and coaching for businesses and individuals since 1979. She also facilitates personal growth seminars for Insight Seminars, and leads trainings for leaders, facilitators and trainers through Interaction Associates. She has taught at the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Houston at Clear Lake, and in numerous academic and professional development programs. She has degrees in government, law and theology, but says that much of her best education has come from her clients and her dogs. Martha combines her diverse experience and expertise to offer unique and impactful learning opportunities in settings ranging from boardrooms to mountaintops to sailing the high seas. Martha has helped people find higher ground throughout the Americas, and in the Caribbean basin, Australia, Europe, Russia and the Middle East.
